We had a flush of Ruby Throat Hummingbirds the last week of September into the first day or two of October. Just as the direct seed sowen morning glory vines were just comming into full bloom. Then with an eary cold spell on the way all the hummers vanished by the first weekend of October. I finally took down their feeder last week on the 8th of October and have closely watched for any late departing hummers since and have spotted none. With a week of freezing night time temps I am confident they have all migrated farther south from our area as of today's date of 10/18/09. Thank you.
