Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/19/2009

Number: 1

October 22
There's still a large number of Monarchs near the lighthouse on St. Marks NWR. The numbers do not seem to be thinning out since Monday the 19th when first sighted. From my observation, the numbers seem to be increasing.

October 19
The monarch butterflies have been sighted in Northwest Florida at St. Marks National Wildlife Reserve on the 19th of October. There are thousands of them here resting and getting ready to continue their flight to Mexico. There is a festival being held at St. Marks NWR in their honor on Saturday 23rd of October.
