We raised monarchs in our classroom this spring and released 15 to fly to Mexico. We studied the monarch as we watched our larva grow and change into a chrysalis and then emerge as a butterfly. On our Back to School Night we had paper butterflies that we designed for families to take home. We suggested a 25 cent donation to the Monarch Butterfly Sancturary Foundation for the butterflies. It was a great success.
