Tulips PLANTED

Date: 10/23/2009

Number: 1

After an unusual snowfall on October 1st and unseasonably cool temperatures averaging 12 degrees below normal for three weeks--our Saskatchewan weather finally warmed up enough for us to plant our tulip test garden on October 23rd. The temperature was 9 degrees Celcius--and with the help of 5 parents and a student designed planting grid, we successfully dug up a section of lawn and planted 27 bulbs in the front of our school. Next week, we will dig deeper with tulips and explore some of our questions. Hopefully the snow will hold off so we can plant our experimental garden. We can't wait to continue on our Journey North adventure!
