Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 10/26/2009

Number: 1

Just a little update to say that I still have a hummingbird here in my yard.

It's a juvenile male Ruby-throated hummingbird.

He finally figured out the feeders on Friday, so I'm no longer worried that he won't have anything to eat.

The plants are all dead save for the four hanging baskets of David Verity Cuphea that I've been bringing in at night to keep them safe from frostbite.

There are still plenty of little gnats flying around outside for him to eat; especially today, they were all over the place with the warm spurt and sun we had!
