I was amazed yesterday, 10/31/2009, when I noticed a large amount of butterflies. I watched them with my binoculars for about an hour. I was even more amazed how many I could see hundreds of feet into the air. Within my line of vision, I could see about 50 at one time. Through the binoculars, it was uncountable.

I did notice they seemed to be smaller than I expected of monarchs. My observation time: I was watching for 1 hour.
