My last sighting of a hummingbird was on Oct. 10, 2009. It appeared to be a female. The bird was feeding in a patch of red salvia as well as at my hummingbird feeders. It had been two weeks since I had seen any hummers in my yard, so I suspect it was one migrating south from a point further north than Welland, Ont. where I live.
