Today Mrs. Ference's class and Mrs. Swentzel's class planted our Emperor Red Tulips for our Journey North Field Team Garden.
We put in 50 tulip bulbs and 100 anemone bulbs. We have a problem with the wild "critters" eating our tulips each year. Since they don't eat anemone plants, we are hoping to help deminish our loss of tulips by confusing the "critters" with untasty plants mixed in with our group of tasty tulips. We'll see how that works out in the spring. Our ground temperature for planting was 48 degrees. The outside air was much warmer degrees in the sixties.
