Nineteen students planted an experimental tulip bulb this year. We have a variety of variables from planting 9 inches deep to covering the tulip bulb in a coat of peanut butter. We had experienced a lot of rain the few days before planting so the soil was moist which allowed for easy digging and planting this year. We also planted 3 bulbs in our control section of the garden so we can compare later in the spring. We are beginning to select partner tulip gardens next week.
