Our second grade class has been studying different types of orange and black butterflies. We were able to go to a local public garden where we similated a Monarch's travels to Mexico. Some were eaten along the way, some hit by trucks. But a few made it. We also looked at their body parts under a microscope, spent time in the Butterfly House (where a variety of butterflies in different stages are housed)and looked through eye pieces that similate the way they see. We enjoyed writing our new friends in Mexico. Buenos Dias!
