Two female Ruby-throated Hummingbirds "sword fighting" over the backyard feeder where my overwintering female was sighted yesterday. The same bird as yesterday's sighting was defending "her feeder" and successfully sent the interloper off. I have 5 feeders around my yard so there is plenty for all. The fact that this bird is defending this feeder makes me feel more certain it is my returned RTHU for what would be the 4th winter. Her first winter was as a juvenile.
