We had large roosts of monarch
October 30 and 31 in a palmetto tree
behind our little beach house
at Matagorda Beach - One of the tallest trees
they would encounter along that
30 mile stretch from Sargent Beach.
Then it tapered of to
dozens overnight until we flew
back to East coast yesterday (11/10).
Editor’s Note: We are estimating a minimum of 200 monarchs based on observer’s photos.
