The Eagle flew up into a tree on the opposite side of the road (NY 23A)from a primitive rest stop as I was driving past. I came back and parked in the rest stop to watch him. There was a partially eaten ground bird (Grouse like) in the parking area. I watched the Eagle sit in the tree for a few minutes. As I started to leave (hoping to return in a few minutes to see the Eagle back down on its prey) The eagle turned around on the branch and flew off to the SSW across the valley. It was spectacular to behold. The size astounded me and the majesty in flight is unforgettable.
