Tulips PLANTED

Date: 11/06/2009

Number: 1

Mrs. Perkins' fifth grade students planted Red Emperor tulip bulbs on Friday, November 6, 2009. Six students dug the hole where we planted our tulip bulbs. They dug a 10 inch hole. We put potting soil in the bottom of the hole so the tulip bulbs would be planted 7 inches underground. We added fertilizer. We arranged our bulbs into two concentric circles. The tulip bulb in the middle was planted for our teacher, Mrs. Perkins. Then we covered the bulbs with good garden soil topped off by the clay soil that we dug out of the hole.
