Amid beautiful balmy late fall weather, our 24 Grade 5 class staked out and prepared our tulip bed at the front of our school - West preparatory School of the Toronto District School board in mid-town Toronto. Students had been tracking phenologcal changes since September and were primed for the event! We planted our bulbs and then gathered up our Grade 1 book buddies so they could also plant bulbs. The Grade 5's made sure the Gr. 1's understood the process, why we were planting the bulbs and proper planting technique before they expertly dug the whole and planted in. In all we planted about 75 bulbs, so bring on the winter...spring awaits!!
