Signs of Fall

Date: 12/03/2009

Number: 1

We did our last observations yesterday, 12/02. The differences are dramatic from one month ago. There is about an inch of snow on the ground. The leaves have dropped from most trees. Amazingly, Russian Olives are still sporting a few leaves. Overnight, the temperature dropped considerably in preparation for a weekend of snow. Even the air smelled different, one student noted. No birds are in sight anymore and the elk, deer, and moose have come down from the highest elevations.
