Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 12/08/2009

Number: 1

Despite the frosty nights we've been having the Anna's hummingbirds and a juvenal male rufous still seem happy. They seemed unperturbed by the temperature dropping down to 19 degrees F last night and were up bright and early at dawn. One of the Anna's sipped from a feeder sporting icicles (see photos at http://web.me.com/jdoerper/John_Doerpers_Fairhaven_Garden/Images_of_Birds_and_Flowers.html#grid).
