I watched activity at my bird feeders and along the side of Chocolate Lake. I saw 6 American Goldfinch at one niger feeder, and 6 more AMGO at another. 2 Bluejays were feeding on a black Sunflower seed feeder, 1 Mourning Dove, 4 Starlings, and 2 Song Sparrows took turns. Starlings also were at the suet feeders.
The ice on the lake was beginning to melt and a small channel was becoming open. Temperature 1%Celsius. Fiches flew in and out of two nearby cedar trees; others flew to large pines across the lake.
