Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 01/07/2010

Number: 1

First large wave of robins, approximately 200 as best we can estimate, arrived on January 7, 2010, and taking up temporary residence in the woods behind our home. Robins feeding on berries from our huge camphor tree.

As of Sunday, January 10, they are still in the area. This first wave arrived much earlier than previous years by about 3 weeks.

January 11
The large flock of robins which arrived on January 7 are still here in our neighborhood, feeding and frolicking through the trees. Temperature hit 51 today, with brilliant sunshine. Lows tonight expected to drop to 26. We have several small lakes within our subdivision providing much needed water for the birds during our dry winter season.
