I was inside the house and I heard what sounded like the call of the red-winged blackbird. I thought, impossible, it is too early. I went to the window and observed approximately 100+ blackbirds on the ground in my backyard, some on the bird feeder. I did not think they were red-wings until something scared them and they all flew away revealing the tell tale red on the wings.
