My husband and I were walking our dog in our neighborhood at about 4:45 p.m. today when we saw about 20 robins in a tree.
We walked about a block and saw about 30 more in a yard.
Another neighbor saw us looking, and the three of us talked about how strange it was. I have seen a robin here and there at this time of year before, but I have never seen what appeared to be returning robins before February.
We have many American holly trees here, and I have seen robins eat these before. But the ground is frozen, so I don't know how they will find protein. Perhaps in wood piles?
