I first saw this large flock of American Robins around New Years in my front yard crab apple tree. They have returned daily. The flock size range from 7-10 birds and they spend their time, eating the apples and seem quite relaxed and comfortable in this weather. The temperature the first couple weeks of the month hovered just above and below 0 and lately has been more mild. My neighborhood would be cnsidered rural, lot sizes range from 1-3 acres so human and auto traffic is light. Tree coverage is light with more than 50% of the coverage coming from pine and fr trees. I feel lucky that they chose my yard to roost in and I hope they stick around.
