Saw my first rufous in a torpor state on the morning of January 9th when the temps were in the 20s. Had some net xmas lights out on some bushes on my patio...could have helped them survive possibly as I left them on all night?
Upon this sighting I filled feeders immediately, but didn't see another rufous until the week beginning January 18th. I have definitely seen both a male and female rufous. They seem to dive in and out of some bushes in my back yard located right next to a feeder. Exciting!
