On Wednesday, 6th January, a beautiful oriole appeared at the feeder
right outside my window. I first noticed it with a flock of Am
Goldfinch, but it now (01/11) comes by itself. I saw it from 8:30am to 4:30pm
yesterday, and it has been here several times today.
The bright orange throat threw me for a loop, so I took some quick
digital pictures and sent them off to Ian, Hans and Blake for a
confirmation. I thought I might have an immature male Baltimore Oriole,
but study showed it to be a young female.
I have been enjoying it on and off all weekend, and it is
here today, feeding on the bag of grapes, suet , and chopped banana, as
well as taking an occasional black oil sunflower seed.
