I have lived in this house for 3 years and am an avid watcher of my backyard birds. I know most of them by call and sight. So I was much surprised today when I saw several "waves" consisting of 50 to 75 Robins. Several of which took refuge in my pear tree and advantage of the free food! I have seen several other new birds this week as well and can only imagine it has much to do with the unusually severe weather to the north. I have photos if needed.
