Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 02/04/2010

Number: 1

At least 50 to 100 Robins have been feasting on my pear berries on my 40 foot Pear Tree and smaller pear trees, for the last 4 days from Feb 4th to Feb 7th, 2010. We also have an abundent water supply with my swimming pool and half acre backyard planted with grass, rich with worms. We are located in the mountain foot hill area of Quartz Hill, California, in the foothill area of the Mojave Desert in Los Angeles County. This appears to be a new extension of their fly way between Mexico and the Great Plains. We planted a hummingbird, butterfly and song bird habitat 20 years ago and the robbins seem to be appearing in the last 2 years, maybe an extension of their migration flyway because we have planted a habitat for them. The robbins first appeared 2 years ago, they did not appear last year, they are here again this year in abundance as we have a tremendous food supply for them to eat.
