Robin (First HEARD singing)

Date: 02/05/2010

Number: 1

I was amazed that day to see such a large flock of Robins in our 20+ ft. tall Red Tip hedge. My first thought was that they were from a migration flight. They never did land on the ground around my birdfeeder. They were zooming back and forth between the hedge and other tall trees and landing on them like they were on an eating frenzy. They were coming in waves. Not sure if they were after the berries on the Red Tips. We also have a Carolina Cherry Laurel with black colored berries that the Robins like to eat. They moved on that same day (01/16), but I am now (02/05) hearing the Robin territory song and seeing an occasional neighborhood yard covered with Robins.
