Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 02/14/2010

Number: 1

My daughter was doing a biology report on different birds in our area. We stopped by a plowed field looking at some other birds when we spotted a large number of robins. My daughter had to list the species and how many. We counted 51 robins in two fields that joined each other. In her report she stated they were American Robins and her teacher disagreed. He said they were North American Robins. We aren't sure how to list these robins.

Editor's note: The American Robin (Turdus migratorius, also called North American Robin) is a migratory songbird of the thrush family. You are both right!
