Monarch (OTHER Observations)

Date: 02/19/2010

Number: 1

It's generally this time of year that we make a run around the countryside and check on the various known A. oenotheroides sites and find 2-4" shoots coming up, but yesterday's search was a bust. We've had lots of rainfall, so that shouldn't be a problem this spring, but the 4 nights of 21-27dF freezes, mid-January, knocked back the native milkweed. It also took out the A. currasavica that was left in pots outside.
