Date: 02/20/2010

Number: 1

I both saw and heard an individual just after noon today in the trees at Oakridge Condos in the Vista section of South Salem. There are good patches of grass now exposed by the stronger sunlight. He sounded an alarm "peek and tut" and was heard first, then repeated the call about 100 yards from me where I saw him leave in a characteristic fly and float pattern back farther into the woods. A welcome sign of returning warmth, I hope.
