I heard sparrow chirping and when I looked out the window to see them, to my surprise was a big beautiful robin foraging for worms in the small grassy area of my front lawn where the 45 inches of snow has finally started to melt. He pulled up one large delicious worm for his breakfast. My winter blues are over. I've been worried about them returning following our record blizzards, but more grassy areas are starting to show so hopefully they will be able to find all the food they need. They are my favorite bird.
