Robin (WAVE seen)

Date: 02/23/2010

Number: 1

At recess today Aidan and George were watering our indoor plants when they sighted a flock of robins in our courtyard. There were so many, they gave up counting and figured about 30 or more. The robins were searching for worms on the south side which had no snow cover. It has been wet, and today it is snowing/raining and about 42 degrees F. Aidan saw one catch and eat a worm. While we stood there a Northern Flicker flew in with great majesty with those yellow underwings. It landed woodpecker-like on one of the pine trees and then went to the ground and started digging up the soil probably looking for worms too. Spring is coming...and we are all glad!!
