I want to report a sighting of a very large black cat (what I thought to be a “Black Panther”). The sighting took place at around 04:15 am the morning of 2/24/2010 in the city limits of Fort Payne, Alabama.

I was on my way to work in Huntsville from my residence in Cherokee county. Along the way that morning, as I made my way down Lookout Mountain into Fort Payne using “3rd St Gap”. I saw the cat as I made the 90 degree left hand turn as you come down the mountain anyway…as I straightened up coming out of the turn, there I saw it in the road. It crossed in front of me and jumped a ditch…It quartered and watched as I passed…I am certain of what I saw…Black Panther? Who knows but, it was the size of one and it was without a doubt a cat.
