Barn Swallow (FIRST sighted)

Date: 02/22/2010

Number: 1

About 4 years ago barn swallows built a nest under the eaves of my front porch in the very busy entryway. Every year in late February at least one of them arrives to start feathering the nest and sing an early reminder that spring is on its way. Every winter I wonder if they'll be back and each year they come. This year I first heard and then saw the male last week. I have not yet noticed the female.
