Weather last week cooled off a little before the incoming storm front which has effected the sites dramatically. Morro Bay moved back up the hill to the top of the stand and similarly to Oceano, had clusters on the pine trees again. Halcyon has been on the same trees for over a month (1/12) with the storm many clusters were found on nearby trees (1/21). Pike Street only fliers were located. Pismo (1/12) amazed me when all clusters were completely removed from the cypress and all located on the eastern eucalyptuses. Pismo (1/16) again all clusters removed from the cypress, with the majority on a pine tree and eucalyptus next to the road and picnic tables, several clusters remained within the grove. Pecho Rd was surveyed last week after receiving a tip from Paul Cherubini and will be surveyed once a month for future reference. More matings were observed. Counts from 1/16-1/19 were taken during or between storm events, the low numbers may be attributed to the violent wind and rains scattering the clusters. Morro Bay (1/19) was extremely scattered with many grounders and several clusters on the backside (eastern) of the grove.
