Sunday in Atascocita dawned sunny with clear blue skies. Cool to start but warmed up around mid-day for a couple of hours before cooling again later afternoon. I was out doing damage control to my fruit trees but did not see one single Monarch butterfly at all. Most unusual -- where are they? I have paperwhites blooming so I imagine that provides a small nectar supply, I have water, and I have some leaves, albeit small, on some milkweeds. This next weekend promises temperatures in the 70's with sunshine. I will be eagerly watching my garden to see if they return this weekend.
