We saw a whale about 3/4 to 1 mile off the beach of Avon, NC at 8 AM on Mon. March 1, 2010. We believe it was a Right whale. We observed the whale for about 1 hour, and during that time it breached on numerous occasions. In fact, it breached 5 times within a 2 minute period. It was moving north.
