Several ferns, hostas, and skunk cabbages are sending up new shoots; the marsh marigold flowers fully opened fro the first time this afternoon, an the peach tree is opening its first, tentative blossoms. Robins and song sparrows are singing with enthusiasm. The chickadees are snatching early aphids and the Anna's hummingbirds are catching bugs on the wing.
The air is very fragrant.
