At first, we couldn't see anything but hard brown dirt. Then we saw the tiniest tip breaking the surface. Next to it, hidden under a twig was a longer tip, about 3 cm tall. As we continued to search we found sixteen tips poking through the ground. The tallest is 4 cm. The shortest is 1 mm.
