We have had a roost of wintering robins in the spruce trees behind my home and that of some of my neighbors since February. I didn't notice them before that time. Every night right around sunset they make their way to the trees and settle in. A friend of mine said she read an article about robins being absent from Canada this winter wintering in the northern states. So, this year I had robins already present when normally they don't arrive till later. I have really enjoyed having them and I am surprised at how many there are. Besides these, there are a small number of local residents and I have heard a couple of them sing periodically (03/04); not for a long time but enough that you know they're here.
