We live in the Northern Tier of PA, and have noticed the locals are collecting the sap from the sugar maples. They have a huge system of piping that runs from tree to tree, which then collects into large stainless steel or plastic containers. While out for a ride enjoying the sunshine, we observed several people transfering the sap from the stationary containers into transportable ones.
