Robin (First HEARD singing)

Date: 03/07/2010

Number: 1

As the day heralded warm temperatures, I opened windows to let the house air. I worked most of the day entering data into a program on my home computer. Bleary from hours of tedious labor, I was slow to realize what I was hearing from the frontyard. Many species like A. Goldfinches, H. Finches and H.Sparrows have started singing here in the last week or so. Mixed in the cacophony of sound I could distinctly hear the territorial song of a robin. As I honed in on the song, I was amazed as I am every spring of how emphatically he sings. Welcome back!
