spotted a bald eagle soaring over route 80 near Utica Il. Starved Rock state park Utica Illinois is known for bald eagle watching and breeding grounds for these birds. The Illinois river flows through this park and also has a large dam where the eagles soar over for their meals of fish. The river at this site never freezers over during the winter months providing food year round for the eagles and raising their young in the area. The eagle count was down this year compared to last years count.
