While at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens, a friend and I witnessed about three different monarchs, which was on the low side compared to other wintertime visits, BUT it was quite cold and windy while we were there, with temps in the upper 50's. Two of the butterflies were even 'grounded', clinging to grass blades or leaf litter, while the brave one flying was nectaring tropical milkweed. I have pictures of all three if you'd like...
