Everyone comments that the birds seem late since we are having and early spring(El Nino year).
Population of year round Anna's hummingbirds empty 3 year round feeders at 10 day interval. As the migrating population builds and crests , the swelling Rufous population will increase food consumption to a twice daily filling of all 3 feeders. Then as swiftly as it began , the migration will end as the last visitors pass through in 5 weeks or so.
