Our third grade planted bulbs in two separate plots, both on the west side of our school building. On March 11, my class counted 29 tulips (out of approx. 50 that would've been planted there) emerging from the north plot. Some tulips were just barely emerging (1/4 in. above the ground) and others were slightly taller (closer to 1 in.). In comparison, there were very few tulips emerging from the south plot. Two days later, on March 13, we had a good snowstorm leaving a blanket of snow. Today, March 14, warmer temperatures have probably melted most if not all of the snow (weekend--unable to observe).
