7am on St Patricks Day morning - and a top of the morning from the first robin singing a cheer-i-o song from the cedar tree near the house. it's -2C but the sun is up and it is supposed to be a pleasant +14C today. Yesterday the sap only ran a bit because it was so warm (+12C). We are splitting up wood for next winter's supply today. the snow is now totally gone from the bush around the house and there were a buzzilion cluster flies all over the ground and on the deck yesterday. the ash and basswood blocks of wood were covered with bees drinking up the sap before the blocks were split. it feels like spring today in madoc. happy green day everyone!
