Red-winged Blackbird (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/17/2010

Number: 1

this morning the air if filled with the songs of the red wings - they are singing a song of thanksgiving from the two ponds and the wetland. they must have arrived overnight because I was outside all day yesterday and there was only one brave singer. welcome back! the temp yesterday was +12C with a very slight breeze and lots of sun. the ponds are still ice-covered but the ice is black and looks like it's just about ready to disappear.
