At around 8:15 AM I saw my first red-winged blackbird holding onto the old cattail at the edge of our stream, Lubbers Run, chirping out his tune of "oakleee" for all the birds in the area to hear him. Then he flitted over a few yards, landed on a new stalk of cattail and did the same thing. His red patch was brilliant in the morning light!
