Monarch Larva (FIRST sighted)

Date: 03/19/2010

Number: 1

Hey, Guys, I found a Monarch larvae on Friday, 3/19/10, just hanging out on one of my dead Mexican Milkweed plants, and adjacent to my Fern Leaf Dill (which is growing like crazy, along with my broccoli, and cabbage). I brought him in and put him in my butterfly enclosure and am hoping for the best. I thought he was going into chyrsallis, but he still seems a little small, so I'll keep offering him milkweed. I have noticed over the years that the smaller Monarch larvae seem to almost always be males? Does anyone else believe this? Thanks!

March 22
I just found two more Monarch larvae on my milkweed. One looks to be just hatched and other a few days old!
